Damn! I'm bored... At this point of my summer vacations I'm going from the bedroom to the living room. Somehow I have a kideny's disease (kidney stones in the right one, to be precise), that's why, suddenly, my summer schedule has been transformed into a boring "day after day" routine. Well, that and furthermore I must add my absolute lack of things to do; it seems that I don't have friends' fun invitations at this days.
So, bored (as I am) I decided to distract myself writing something about a great record (at least I think that). Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Difuntos Correa and their opera prima the magnificent Tramposo Amor.
Let's see, this record is, with all justice, one of my favorites ever. The true reason for this personal impression is simple (but hard to explain), it makes me feel the same pleasure and emotions than the first time I ever heard it. It's the same logic that I used with A.N.I.M.A.L.'s Fin De Un Mundo Enfermo, Dream Theater's Metropolis Pt. 2. Scenes From A Memory, Rhapsody's Simphony Of Enchanted Lands, or Los Tetas' La Medicina.
Maybe we're able to affirm that Difuntos Correa is equal to Tramposo Amor. Why? Well, the band had a short n' shy begining in the Santiago's tour, 'til they released their first album in 2004. Soon, the promotional singles "Arrepentido" and "Black Dancing" conquered the chilean radio and TV charts. The band was famous and succefull, but they tought that Tramposo Amor wasn't good enough; then they decided to re-edited it, improving the sound mixes, adding a new track (the 3rd single, "Pasaje en Avión"), a free ticket for a band live show, and extras available in the band website.
What do I like of this record? Well, the music it's OK, you know, with bronze melodies, nice guitar solos, clear voice work, contagious rhythms, and everything else. An easy going music. But there's something special in this piece of art... oh yeah! there's something that traped me in... the lyrics, are amazing. Nothing very sophisticated, but they're honest, simple and I'm able to make them a deeply part of my own days.
That's right... Tramposo Amor is the official soundtrack of my recent life's experiences!
